  Knitting up service

Here at I Knit we are often asked if we take commissions to knit up gifts, projects and other stuff for individuals or companies. Whilst we accept some offers we can't take on them all. Whilst we positivley encourage people to pick up needles and learnt to knit...there are always those who'd prefer to have stuff knit for them!

After some consideration we have set up this page where those in need of knits may find a willing knitter or crocheter to take on the work.

Please note that most of the people listed here are recreational knitters, not professionals, who have expressed an interest in having their skills available. A listing here does not amount to an agreement that anyone will take on your commission. Please, always agree fees, terms, deadlines and details in advance on both sides.

I Knit have listed all details in good faith, but we cannot be responsible for any work undertaken or requested. If you wish to have your listing updated, added or removed please drop us an email

Celia (Cheltenham) - I have been knitting for as long as I can remember.  I am now in retirement. My speciality is dog coats and I have knitted many, basically knitting by measurements, dogs come in all  shapes and sizes! Contact: email
Sandra Monks (London) -  Over 50 years' experience (I started knitting when I was five).  Willing to tackle most things now the entire family is kitted out with sweaters!  I have various knitting patterns that I am happy to share.  Contact: email
Helena Muttock (Norfolk) - I have been knitting for the last 30 years, and can use a diagram as well as a written pattern. I can knit all basic sticth patterns as well as cabling, fairisle, entrelac etc. I also crochet and machine knit too! Projects for all ages... jumpers, dresses, baby garments, outer garments, hats, gloves and scarves etc. I am willing to create anything required and understand that it will take time to produce an item of quality. Contact: 01379 652371 or email
Lottie Lodge (Swansea) - I can handle intermediate patterns for socks, gloves, cardigans, sweaters; I'm good with circular needles and shaping. I have good even tension and I enjoy attention to detail. Contact: email
Jo Jackson (London) - I'm happy to take commissions for knitted projects. Lots of experience of knitting baby/child items, including intarsia and Fair Isle techniques. Would consider larger items. Contact: email
Gudrun (London) I've been knitting for about 10 years. I am able to do all the basics, garter, stockinette and am quite good at deciphering knitting patterns. I'm also able to do fair isle, intarsia and most colourwork although at present my cabling skills aren't up to much! I can also knit in the round on circular and dpns. Contact: email
Sarah Moore (London) - I can knit most things, including lace, cables, sweaters, etc but wouldn’t be confident knitting colourwork just at this stage. So basically, I'm up for anything else except colourwork! Contact: email

Stephanie Walsh (Cheshire) - I particularly enjoy lace knitting, smaller projects, accessories, pets’ items and chunky yarns. Well-versed with medium-weight luxury yarns and with chunky yarns and big needles. Contact: 07974 989 532 or email

Birgit (London) - I can knit everything (within reason), and enjoy a challenge! Techniques include cables, modular, entrelac and lace, also fair isle, providing it's not a whole huge piece...Smaller projects preferred (socks, hats, scarves, toys), I'm familiar with both circular needles and dpns for work in the round. I'm a native German speaker, and could translate patterns as well. Contact email
Amber Mooney - I have been knitting for six years and enjoy knitting just about everything. I have experience doing cables, colour work, lace, socks, sweaters, baby items, etc. I have a lot of time on my hands and can think of no better way to spend an afternoon than on my couch knitting. Contact: email
Emily Platt - I'm 19 and have been knitting for 5 years, I'm studying fashion at university and would love to get experience in making things for other people. I am able to make scarvess, jumpers, socks on double-pointed needles and am also good with intarsia and fair isle techniques. Contact: email

Josephine (London) - I've been knitting for over 20 years - and I love it!  You can see an example of my work in 'A Stitch in Time' (Arbour House, 2008).  I'm happy to knit large garments, small items or baby clothes.  I can help you to with yarn choices, design or alterations for a better fit.  Fine or chunky knits, cables, knitting in the round, fair isle, intarsia or lace pose no problem. Contact: email

Ellen (London) - my skills are knitting, crochet, cables and lace (though anything complex in the last two and I’ll need a chart and instructions). Contact: 07855 309 348 or email

Flossie (London) - Basically I can do anything small like hats, mittens, socks, scarves, hand warmers, etc, but not big things like jumpers. I can do colourwork (fair isle, etc), and much more besides- cables, basic lace patterns, etc. Contact: email

Sarah Mann (Brighton) - I've been knitting for 7 years seriously (but have been able to for about 23 years), crocheting for 1 year. Crochet - particularly like doing squares, flowers, garments - not so keen on fine lace work crochet. Knitting - simple sweaters, cardigans, scarves... Love knitting socks and pretty quick too! I don’t currently do cable or lace. Contact: email
